📖 How to Play — Escoba de Quince

Objective

Score 21 points with a 2-point lead to win the game.

Scoring per Round

Most cards captured — 1 point
Most Oros (Coins) captured — 1 point
7 of Oros — 1 point
Setenta or Prime — 1 point
Each Escoba (sweep) — 1 point each

Opening Table Special Case

If the 4 opening table cards total exactly 15 or 30, the dealer immediately captures them. This mandatory opening capture is shown briefly before the first normal turn starts.

Setenta or Prime

This game uses the recommended prime-style Setenta scoring.

Each player compares their best captured card in each suit.
For this category, cards rank: 7 > 6 > Ace > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > picture cards.
The stronger four-card suit combination wins 1 point.
If both combinations are equal, nobody scores the Setenta point.

On Your Turn

Capture: Select a card from your hand and one or more cards from the table whose values sum to exactly 15. Click "Play Card".
Discard: If no capture is possible, select one hand card and click "Play Card" to place it on the table.

Escoba (Sweep)

If your capture removes all cards from the table, that is an Escoba — worth 1 bonus point.

Always not an Escoba: leftover table cards awarded automatically at round end never count as an Escoba.
Default house rule: a table-clearing capture with your final card of the round does not score an Escoba.
Options toggle: enable Score Escoba on final card of round if you want that final-round sweep to count.

Card Values

Ace = 1, 2–7 = face value
Sota (Jack) = 8 game value (printed as 10 on Baraja Española)
Caballo (Knight) = 9 game value (printed as 11 on Baraja Española)
Rey (King) = 10 game value (printed as 12 on Baraja Española)

Win Condition

First player to reach 21+ points with at least a 2-point lead wins (e.g., 21–19 wins; 21–20 does not).
